A BILL

To terminate further development and implementation of the American Heritage Rivers Initiative.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. TERMINATION OF AMERICAN HERITAGE RIVERS INITIATIVE.

 

    None of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available to a Federal agency (including the Council on Environmental Quality, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of the Interior) may be used to develop, implement, or carry out the American Heritage Rivers Initiative, as described in the proposal of the Council on Environmental Quality published in the Federal Register on May 19, 1997 (62 Fed. Reg. 27253), or any similar initiative.
