The purpose of the Endangered Species Act is stated as being the protection of wildlife, however, during it's 24 year reign not one species can be proven to have been saved. What it has accomplished is the destruction of hundreds of thousands of jobs, along with the way of life of hundreds of rural communities nationwide. The final result of this act is to have extended federal land use control over much of the nation, including not only federal and state land, but a large percentage of private property as well. With the number of "endangered" and "threatened" species growing each year, soon every inch of private property in America will come under the control of the federal government. Those responsible for the enforcement of this act have publicly stated that ...when the wants of man come in conflict with an endangered species the species will take precedence... whether it be a bug, plant or animal.
