America’s Voice (NET) Television faces loss of Dish Network Satellite Link.
Over the last several years America’s Voice (NET) Television has become the one bright light in Television Broadcasting. It is the only outlet for conservative, common sense and truthful news reporting today. The liberal media establishment has, since its inception, been terrified of its programming. Today the Dish Network is hedging on renewing America’s Voice contract citing that the viewership does not warrant the slot they have allocated to it. Since last September we have been able to air your stories and concerns on this national channel through our Liberty Matters segment on Morning View each Friday morning. This and all of the other programs vital to the education of the American public are in jeopardy. We know thousands of you have purchased Dish Network systems not only for our shows, but also for all of the other programs that America’s Voice makes possible. We need you to call the Dish Network and bury them with calls of support for America’s Voice…We can not afford to let this programming be snuffed out for all of those folks without access to cable systems. This Dish Network broadcast is the only way the majority of our folks have to access the America’s Voice programming. Call NOW! 1-800-333-3474 or E-mail to feedback@echostar.com
New York County moves to make wolf introduction illegal.
This past week the Essex County (in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York) Ways and Means Committee unanimously passed a resolution that "prohibits importation, liberation and release of certain dangerous animals" and would specifically ban release of wolves into the county. The resolution referenced an old State law that authorizes any Adirondack county to set a bounty on wolves. Dale French, Supervisor of the Town of Crown Point, has long been a proponent of local control of these matters and introduced the measure to send a message to both the State and Federal governments. The proposed county law sets a $5,000 fine for a first offense and $10,000 for each subsequent violation. For more information call Mr. French at 518-597-3061. Order Faxback Doc. 249
"Safe Harbor" Equals Extortion
A "Safe Harbor" plan, a scheme concocted by Bruce Babbitt, is being proposed in Central Texas that could lock up over one million acres of privately owned land. Ike Sugg with Competitive Enterprise Institute out of Washington, DC, warns that if approved by U.S. Fish and Wildlife (a forgone conclusion if submitted) the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be given the authority to prohibit "habitat modification" on land deemed "suitable" for two endangered birds known as the Golden-cheeked warbler and Black-capped vireo. "Safe Harbor," "No Surprises" and "Habitat Conservation Plans" will all be codified into law if S.1180, the ESA reauthorization bill being pushed by Republican Dirk Kempthorne from Idaho is passed. All of these plans have the same thing in common – you have to give the government money or land to have the "permission" to use your own land. That’s extortion and our Congress should not allow these schemes to be perpetrated by Bruce Babbitt and his bureaucratic bullies. Help stop the Texas plan by contacting Governor George W. Bush. Forest Service Media Agenda Uncovered
Chief of the Forest Service, Mike Dombeck, faced a Congressional Hearing led by Congressman Helen Chenoweth (R-ID) last Tuesday to answer questions about an intercepted agency media plan. The plan details a national agenda to use the major media and catastrophic forest fires as a backdrop for news conferences and photo opportunities with Vice President Gore. After the hearing Chenoweth stated, "… it appears the Forest Service has embarked on a cynical plan to risk the health of the forests in order to improve the political prospects of Vice President Gore." The plan instructs key officials to answer media questions starting with phrases like "there is a problem," "doing business the same way will exacerbate the problem," "the Agenda is a reasonable approach to solving the problem." Questions have been raised whether forest managers are being encouraged to allow fires to be more devastating in order to become dramatic public events for Gore. Faxback Docs. 247, 248
