Matters News Service Government Wolves Terrorize NM FamilyWolves are shy animals that only hunt wild game, and then harvest only the sick and old, says your friendly U.S. Fish & Wildlife fellow. When the Mark Miller family returned to their home in New Mexico from a short trip to town last week, they made a gruesome discovery. The remains of one of their best horses named Six was scattered about his corral, torn to pieces by Mexican wolves. From the tracks, the Millers deduced that Six had run from the pack of killers into his corral, seeking sanctuary. What he got though, was a horrible death. A month prior to the horse killing, the Miller's eight-year old daughter was with her dog, not far from the house when a wolf attacked and injured the dog. She ran to her parents for help. Miraculously, the wolf did not go after her. In the past eight months, wolves have also killed six dogs belonging to neighbors. The problem exists wherever wolves abound. In 2006, a record 25 dogs were killed by wolves in Wisconsin. The wolves continue to harass the Miller horse herd and boldly left their mark just feet from the ranch house porch. The Millers dare not leave and must guard their horses around the clock. Go to this web site and see the work of government wolves. "Who are you going to believe? Us, or your lying eyes?" Pictures of Six Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Eminent Domain CaseThe U. S. Supreme Court has declined to hear the Port Chester eminent domain case in which Bart Didden sued the village of Port Chester in Westchester County, New York for condemning his property and turning it over to developer, G & S Port Chester LLC (Liberty Matters News Service, 1/12/07). The case was seen as one in which the Court could redeem itself after the 2005 Kelo decision fiasco. However, they may have seen the case as an improper instrument to rectify Kelo because the lower courts dismissed it, ruling that Didden failed to file the lawsuit within three years of the village's adoption of the redevelopment plan. Didden argued he was within a proper time frame because the village didn't take his property until late in 2003. "I'm so disillusioned with the whole court system at this point," Didden said, after hearing the news. Dana Berliner, Institute of Justice attorney who filed the case last November said, "The court will have to review an eminent domain case sometime soon." Justices Decline to Take Up New
Eminent Domain Case Off With Their HeadsThe leading meteorologist for the Weather Channel, Heidi Cullen, says broadcast meteorologists who scoff at the left-wing's man-made global warming propaganda should be stripped of their scientific certification. "If a meteorologist can't speak to the fundamental science of climate change, then maybe the American Meteorological Society (AMS) shouldn't give them a Seal of Approval," Cullen wrote on her December 21 weblog. Sensible meteorologists are under attack from main stream media types like Scott Pelley, CBS News' 60 Minutes correspondent who compared global warming skeptics to "Holocaust deniers," and the man who invented the Internet, former VP Al Gore, labels skeptics "global warming deniers." Cullen's December guest on Climate Code, Grist Magazine's Dave Roberts said scoffers should be tried in Nuremberg-style trials for their heresy. Global warming organizations can outspend their detractors by a wide margin with supporters like Virgin Air mogul Richard Branson who recently made a $3 billion contribution to their cause. The global warming advocates must be feeling the heat of growing doubt among the public and hence their shrill attempts to stifle dissention. Weather Channel Climate Expert
Calls for Decertifying Global Warming Skeptics Polar Bears Not Skating On Thin IceInterior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne capitulated to green blackmail in December and agreed to propose polar bears be listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act because of man-made global warming. Kempthorne admitted polar bears are extremely hardy, but global warming might threaten their survival. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) says "the species is not currently endangered." But that could change for the worse, says WWF, because the bears are not protected "against the biggest man-made threat to their survival: global warming." "The proposed listing of polar bears as a threatened species demonstrates the absurd lengths to which environmental activists will go regarding their global warming obsession," said James M. Taylor, managing editor of Environment & Climate News. A Center for Biological Diversity news release noted: "If today's lawsuit is successful, polar bears could become the first mammal to be officially declared at risk due to global warming." Nicole Haynes McCoy, Utah State assistant professor, said listing the polar bear might be a good way to get the ESA reformed. "Once you start asking the American people to pay more for power, transportation and food to save a species you are in for trouble." Policy Experts Reject Proposal to
List Polar Bears as Threatened Ready to Learn How to WinA regional training seminar will be held in Yreka, CA, February 16-17, to teach landowners new strategies that will help them protect their property from restrictive land use policies. Whether the issues are grazing reductions, ESA listings, EPA/DEQ restrictions, water use restrictions, wetlands restrictions, smart growth plans or other land use regulations, the seminar will teach effective ways landowners can protect themselves and their property.
